It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and for city police that means keeping an eye out for drivers who’ve maybe had a few drinks with clients, colleagues or co-workers.
Police are again teaming up with partners who have the same interest to encourage safe driving during the holiday season.
This is the 7th annual holiday campaign where police are joined by Big Rock Brewery and Associated Cabs, promoting a strong message ensuring that everyone sharing in holiday cheer thinks ahead and books a safe ride home.
“It’s not something we can do on our own as an enforcement agency, but with our partners from various industries, we can ensure that people enjoy themselves during the holiday season and most importantly, do it safely,” says Inspector Mike Waterson.
Waterson adds, we can expect to hear more in the coming weeks about a ramping up of the Check Stop program which will again include daytime checkstops through the city.
