Despite multiple signs warning drivers, many are still crashing into the lower deck of Calgary’s Centre Street Bridge.

A U-Haul truck was wedged under the bridge Wednesday when the driver failed to heed warning signs.

Over 20 similar crashes have occurred in the past year, but the city says that’s actually an improvement.

The Calgary Sun reports before putting in a detection system complete with flashing lights to warn too-tall vehicles, the city experienced four a month.

Alderman Diane Colley Urquhart says there’s still too many of these incidents occurring, but it’s unclear what else they can do to improve warning systems if drivers just aren’t paying attention.
