Grumbling about the traffic circle in McKenzie Towne in the Southeast continues to grow.
Area alderman Shane Keating tells 660News the multi-lane roundabout isn’t perfect and the city will continue to monitor traffic flow in the area and changes could be made in the future.
“We’re always open to listening to what they think, and the feedback overall I have to admit is ‘why did you do this, this way?’ Its not so much ‘why did you paint lines?’, but ‘why did you do it this way?’”
However Keating says the city isn’t ready just yet to change what was put in place a few weeks ago.
“Is this the best plan for that circle? We will adjust we will find out. Can there be modifications to this plan? We will look at that over the near future. Or should the plan be scrapped? And we’ll look at that as well.” He says.
Keating says traffic circles do work, but not many have 30 to 40 thousand vehicles a day using them.
