After 14 years serving thousands of women and children, the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter is getting some upgrades.
A $2-million renovation to the shelter is underway that will enhance the services the shelter provides.
The shelter’s Executive Director, Lisa Falkowsky, says the renovations are needed to meet a growing demand for children and youth services.
She says the shelter serves about 800 young people a year who have been exposed to family violence and abuse.
