Deaths of Temple couple ruled murder-suicide

The deaths of a Temple couple have been ruled murder suicide and police say the husband killed his wife days before killing himself.

The bodies of the married couple were found in a home in the 200 block of Templegreen Drive northeast on Halloween.

Police say the woman was stabbed while the male found in the apartment took his own life by asphyxiation.

Homicide Unit Staff Sgt. Doug Andrus says Amiben Prajapati, 27 died either on the evening of October 28 or the next morning.

Her husband, 32-year-old Hiren Prajapati, checked into a Medicine Hat motel on the 29th then was pulled over near Swift Current, Saskatchewan on a routine traffic check the next morning.

Andrus said Prajapati then made his way back to Calgary and was found dead with his wife on October 31st.

Investigators spoke with friends of the couple who say the pair seemed to be a happy couple and were shocked to hear how they died.
