Two adults and a six-year-old child escaped a house fire in Brentwood thanks to a good samaritan.

A neighbour banged on the door of a house on Benton Drive Northwest after spotting flames coming from the home’s car port.

Chief Ernie Molineaux tells 660News the three were already outside the home when crews arrived around 1 a.m. this morning.

“Crews managed to bring it under control pretty quickly, limiting the damage to basically the vehicles and some superficial damage to the side of the house.

The residents were allowed to return to the house.

The fire is not considered suspicious.
