The talk gives way to action, Sunday afternoon, as the Calgary Stampeders play host to  the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League’s West Division Semi-final.

The Stamps won the season series 2-1 and finished the regular season with an impressive 12-6 record, good for second place in the West.  The Riders were 8-10, finishing third in the West. Despite those numbers, the Roughriders have history on their side.  They’ve won the last five playoff meetings between the two teams dating back to the 1990′s.

The winner of the semi-final game advances to the West Division Final next Sunday in Vancouver, with the victor in that match-up off to Toronto for the 100th Grey Cup Game on November 25th.

The Stampeders and Roughriders square off at 2:30p.m. at McMahon Stadium with a forecast of sunshine and -5 at game time.
