A major upgrade of a Calgary swimming pool is now complete.
Shouldice Aquatic Centre in Bowness reopened Saturday after a five-month renovation.
Ward 1 Alderman Dale Hodges said the city has to maintaining its recreation facilities.
“This is work that’s required to be done, otherwise you’d have serious problems with these indoors pools,” Hodges said. “Indoor swimming pools are at a premium in Calgary, there aren’t that many of them.”
Total cost of the upgrade was $1.5 million.
