As the temperatures continue to fall, EMS have some tips on how to stay safe in the cold.

EMS spokesperson, Adam Loria advises us to take precautions and cover-up any exposed skin when outside because even a low level of frostbite can happen very quickly.

He adds we should also be careful and ready for when we head outside to clear the driveway and sidewalks.

“A little bit of light stretching, properly hydrating yourself with water, juice, prior to going outside is beneficial.  If you are outside and feel any discomfort, take a break, go inside,” said Loria.

He says it is also a good idea to have an emergency kit in your vehicle incase you get stranded on the side of the road.
