A Boyle RCMP officer has been charged following an investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT).
The incident happened on September 23, 2011 and ASIRT says the officer was involved in a traffic stop when he discharged his firearm, injuring the driver of the vehicle.
Constable Jason Clance faces a number of charges:
– reckless discharge of a firearm
– discharging a firearm with intent to wound, maim or disfigure
– aggravated assault
– use of a firearm while committing an indictable offence
– careless use of a firearm
The officer is expected to be in court to answer to the charges on December 11th.
