One of Banff’s more popular ski resorts will be open and ready for business this weekend.

At this point, five of Sunshine Village’s runs will be ready to go Friday and officials say weather permitting there could be more.

“We’ve had 19 centimetres drop over night, 45 centimetres drop in two days and we have a total snow pack of 94 centimetres right now which is absolutely phenomenal,” says Media Relations Manager Tanya Otis.

They’re hailing this weekend as a perfect time to come to the resort and shake off your summer rust.

New this winter, Otis says they’ll be re-vamping their Terrain Park and adding six new features.

“It’s going to be a great new look, with streamline ease of flow design,” she explains. “So we’re excited to get that going this season.”

After a record breaking winter last year of 34 feet, she anticipates above average conditions for the rest of the season.
