The Calgary Fire Department says a smoke alarm helped save a home from a blaze in the northeast.
Officials say a concerned neighbour told the local fire station they heard a smoke alarm going off inside the Ventura Pace home around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
Fire crews extinguished the flames, and say there was minimal damage.
The home was under renovation, and no one was inside at the time.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
