The Apple iPad mini is up for sale, but there were smaller than usual lineups when stores opened in Asia and Australia.

Critics said the new product is too expensive — at $329 (Cdn.) — when compared to tablets from rivals like Google and Amazon.

Apple predicted it will sell more than one-million iPad minis this weekend.

The company’s fourth-generation iPad, which has a faster processor and better WiFi, is also out Friday.
