A former day home operator will be sentenced Wednesday for criminal negligence that caused the death of a toddler two years ago.
Erin Jackman pleaded guilty to the revised charge last month in the death of 19-month-old Mercedes Pepper.
The little girl died of blunt force trauma in July 2010.
The Calgary Sun reports Jackman was originally charged with aggravated assault which was upgraded to manslaughter.
