There might be a few more kids at work on Wednesday November 7th.

The Learning Partnership is holding “Take Our Kids To Work Day” next Wednesday across the country, which involves Grade Nine students.

President and CEO of The Learning Partnership Veronica Lacey tells 660News how the program has evolved since 1994.

“It has increased in numbers right across Canada. The occupations have totally changed, so kids are much more sophisticated, but also the variety of occupations and possibilities that are open to them if they graduate from secondary school and post-secondary institutions.” said Lacey.

Last year, Alberta Health Services and Enmax were the two programs in this province that received Canada’s Outstanding Employers Awards from The Learning Partnership.

Lacey notes the program has introduced a strong focus on health and safety, making sure kids are safe when they go to the workplace.
