What’s your biggest fear in the workplace?
According to a new survey by Accountemps, 29 per cent of employees point to making a mistake.
Branch manager for the Calgary chapter Susan Chesney tells 660News, why they conduct these surveys of employees:
“It’s just to help individuals and managers as well as manage appropriately so that fear doesn’t get in the way of productivity; the last thing you want to have is people feeling that they can’t be successful and they’re afraid to do certain things in the event that they may make a mistake,” said Chesney.
Chesney recommends regular meetings between the boss and employee to establish if they’re on the right track, what they’re working on and provide clarity on expectations going forward.
Other things that made the list include: dealing with difficult customers or clients, speaking in front of a group of people and conflicts with co-workers.
