Alberta’s Health Minister says he supports the decision to localize medical decisions.

Fred Horne says a pilot project at Calgary’s Rockyview Hospital will empower staff to make operational decisions locally and by extension improve morale and productivity.

But not everyone is backing the idea.

Liberal leader Raj Sherman criticizes the move, calling it confusing.

He tells the Calgary Sun it’s hard to know who’s in charge, “the executive, the Health Minister or the Premier?”
