Apple launches iPad Mini

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Apple has announced the iPad Mini. The device is 7.2 mm thin and weighs 0.68 pounds.

The company also announced a 4th generation iPad, a new iMac in two sizes and a new version of iBooks.

Both iPads will be on sale in Canada on Nov. 2. The mini will start at $329 for the 16 GB model.

Apple has sold 84 million iPads since their debut in April 2010. One of the first competitors to appear was a Samsung tablet with a 7-inch screen.
