“Cause I needed to get my hockey stick and Stanley Cup signed,” he says.
Dad Kevin was excited to take him.
“He just started hockey himself, and he was watching the Olympics when they were going on, even though he was only three and a half.” he explains. “He enjoyed himself, so I told him this is the guy that won the gold medal.”
Kirsten and Catherine wanted to meet their inspiration for swimming Marion Lay.
“It was really great,” Kirsten says. “We met all of them and they were all really nice. They make us want to go swim faster.”
It was a big day for Bentley who got her soccer jersey signed by Charmaine Hooper.
Mom Diane took both her kids to the autograph session.
“They’re big soccer and hockey fans, and it’s just a wonderful opportunity to meet them, face to face.”
It’s not just kids who were getting in on the action; Allan was second in line to meet the inductees.
“Yeah, a big hockey fan and my son’s a big speed skating fan and he met Jeremy a few months ago, so I’ve got some pictures of him that I want him to sign.”
