Calgary Economic Development is asking for more cash from the city for its campaign designed to attract people and businesses to the city.
The CED is asking the finance committee for an additional $200,000 in 2013 and $150,000 the following year for its “Be part of the energy” campaign.
Alderman Peter Demong tells The Calgary Sun the CED should be able to find the money in its own budget, adding they already contribute $5-million to the CED a year.
However CED President Bruce Graham says they’ve already made internal cuts and shifted their priorities, and still need the cash.
