Six police officers have been killed in Pakistan after a police station was attacked by over 100 militants.

The attack near the main northwest city of Peshawar started late Sunday night and triggered a gun battle that lasted for several hours.

The attack coincided with another attack on a police station in a smaller town about 20 kilometres south of Peshawar, which left several other people hurt.
