A proposal to give veterans a break on parking fees goes to council Monday.
Alderman Shane Keating is making a pitch that cars with veteran license plates should get around $10 a month free parking in the city.
He wants council to study what the losses to city revenue would be.
Keating is a passionate supporter of vets, and also co-founded the charity Families in Remembrance of Military Members in honour of his nephew who was killed in Afghanistan.
The alderman says the free parking would be a way to say thank you to those who’ve served Canada.
