An assault in the city has left a man injured and in hospital.
The vicious attack took place around 14th Street and 16th Ave., S.W.
Duty Inspector Paul Stacey says around 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, two men and a woman jumped a man believed to be in his thirties.
The culprits beat the man up, rifled through his pockets and left him injured in the street prior to taking off in a red Chevy truck with a Saskatchewan licence plate.
Stacey notes two factors are involved:
“Number one: alcohol; number two–we suspect at this point that drugs may have had something to do with this.”
Stacey adds, the victim who appeared to be intoxicated, had not been “overly cooperative” with police.
The injured man was taken by EMS to hospital and police are interviewing three witnesses.
