Premier Alison Redford says it’s time for workers at the XL Foods plant to get back on the job and for life to return to normal in Brooks.

She continues to say Alberta beef is safe and her government will continue to stand behind producers.  She says despite the union representing Lakeside Packers workers wanting an inquiry, Redford says that will not happen.

“Every single time that something doesn’t go well, we don’t need to have a public inquiry, we have to learn, we have to take the time to sort out what happened,” said Redford.

The premier says it has always been her priority under the right health regulations that the plant could open as soon as possible.
