Relatives of a young Russian man who continues to recover in a Calgary hospital are wondering who will help cover his every increasing medical bill.

It’s alleged 24 year old Denis Telyakov was beaten while being held at the remand centre back on August 20th.

Family members say he is starting to shows signs of improvement, after emerging from a coma.

Russia’s consul general, who is based in Toronto, is now working with the family in it’s quest for both justice and medical bill compensation.

Jason Maloney with the Alberta Justice Solicitor General’s department tells 660News, an investigation into the Telyakov incident has yet to be completed.

He says once the review is complete they will take a look at it and take appropriate action.
