It’s Fire Prevention Week in our city and the Calgary Fire Department will be working to educate Calgarians as part of two events scheduled for Wednesday.
In keeping with this year’s theme of “Have Two Ways Out,” the fire department will be conducting a fire alarm drill Wednesday morning at the Safeway Corporate offices to help raise awareness of workplace fire safety.
Then Wednesday night the fire department will hold a major smoke alarm blitz in the northwest community of Greenwood Village.
Chief Bruce Burrell, firefighters, and corporate partners will all be going door to door to offer residents the opportunity to have their smoke alarms checked and to offer more information about fire prevention.
