It’s a holiday centered around food.
Thanksgiving is a time to sit down with the family and enjoy a meal, but what should you do if you’re watching your waistline?
A typical meal of turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables will come out to 1300 calories; 43 grams of fat; 183 grams of carbs and 90 grams of sugar!
The average man require 2100 calories a day and the average woman requires 1800 calories.
Vincci Tsui is a registered dietician and says a lot of people will try and save up their calories and not eat all day.
“When you starve yourself all day then obviously everything is going to look good and you’re going to want to eat everything. The best way is really is to treat it like a normal day like eat your normal meals and even some people might find it even helpful to have an extra snack before Thanksgiving dinner,” Tsui says.
She adds to take what you love about thanksgiving, just in moderation.
