The University of Alberta is making recommendations to change their emergency notification system.
Three people were shot and killed and one injured during an armoured car robbery on June 15.
When officials attempted to send an emergency e-mail to tell students about the deadly shooting that had occurred six hours earlier, the email failed to send.
The Edmonton Journal reports it took them three hours to fix the problem.
Students have since come out criticizing the system.
Nineteen recommendations have been made by U of A officials, including improving communication during emergency situations, better access to contact information and an improved notification system for students.
