Restaurant sales in Canada will rise to an annual average of 4.1 per cent over the next five years.

That’s according to a new report by the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association.

C-R-F-A Vice President for western Canada Mark Vaughn-Shelwitz tells 660News commercial restaurant sales will see a major climb.

“According to a new report by the C-R-F-A, sales will jump to $61.7 billion a year by 2016 — up from the current $52.9 billion.

Following the 4.7 per cent increase this year, 2013 will see a modest slowdown, advancing just 3.9 per cent.

Alberta and Saskatchewan lead the way provincially, boasting the fastest restaurant sales growth; They both average over 5 per cent.

Caterers will see the fastest industry growth with an annual sales increase of 4.6 per cent.
