On the 12th anniversary of the death of Calgary Police Service Constable John Petropoulous, the memorial fund that bears his name is launching “The 29-Day Challenge” in honour of his legacy.
The fundraising campaign urges Calgarians to make individual donations of $29 to help spread the word about workplace safety.
The goal is to raise $29,000 that will go directly toward paying professional speakers to deliver powerful workplace safety presentations to companies, schools and community events.
People will be able to track their donation and find out exactly which safety presentation it supports.
Constable John Petropoulous died in the line of duty in 2000 after a preventable fall at an unsafe workplace during the investigation of a suspected break and enter.
Online donations can be made here.
