The street drug known as ‘bath salts’ has now been declared illegal by the Canadian government.
The public is now banned from possessing, trafficking, importing or exporting MDPV; which is now in the same category as cocaine or heroin.
The drug nicknamed after a harmless product you can buy at a corner drug store looks like regular bath salts, but can cause dangerous mind-altering side effects.
Reports show those who’ve taken the drug have experienced paranoia and violent hallucinations.
Canada is following suit with the U.S. who banned the sale, production and possession of the ingredients that make up the street drug earlier this year.
