The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says there has been no scientific link made between cases of E.Coli in Alberta and the massive recall of beef that continues to grow.

Added to the recall list are products sold at Co-op stores and strip loin steaks sold under the Kirkland brand at an Edmonton Costco.

The agency says those steaks have made people sick.

A few Calgary butcher shops are feeling the effects of the recall as well.

Master Meats and Second to None Meats tell 660News, more and more people are inquiring about E.coli and the meat sold.

“We’ve actually sold a little bit more ground beef when people realized we do all our ground beef in house here,” said John Wildenborg, owner of Master Meats.

Second to None Meat’s Shane Eustace says traffic on their website has increased, as have the phone calls.  “We’ve gotten a lot more people calling and asking a lot more questions about the individual ranchers that we deal with and so with our business it has simply raised awareness significantly and I think a lot more people are turning towards farmer’s markets and locally raised products because of the recall.”
