A city alderman is expressing outrage that Elbow Drive has been ripped up and closed for repairs twice in two years.
Ward 11 Alderman Brian Pincott says he was annoyed to see gas line work close down a stretch of the street south of Lansdowne this year, despite the city asking utility firms if the same work needed to be done the year before when roads were under construction.
ATCO sent a letter to residents in March with regrets they weren’t able to align their work with the City of Calgary.
Pincott says the work cost the natural gas company much more because they missed their chance to do it while the road had already been dug up.
Pincott tells The Calgary Herald all players need to work better together to co-ordinate road projects so that this kind of thing stops happening.
