City council has given approval for Calgary’s innovative cellphone parking payment system to expand to other cities in the province.
The decision was made after a closed-door meeting Monday.
No ParkPlus deals can be inked yet though; council may also need to okay a big upgrade for the city’s own system.
The Calgary Herald reports an ongoing patent dispute also needs to be resolved before council proceeds.
Earlier this summer, councillors in Edmonton endorsed a plan to bring ParkPlus to their city.
