A little girl fighting for her life in the Alberta Children’s Hospital is said to be one of five E. coli cases Alberta Health Services is investigating in the province.

Sarah Demoskoff, 4, has been suffering from kidney failure since September 11th.

Her family says she ate pre-packaged ground beef patties and became very ill soon after.

They say doctors have told them her case is linked to a beef recall announced earlier this week, but AHS has not confirmed that.

On Sunday, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency first warned ground beef from Edmonton-based XL Foods may contain E. coli.
