Dustin Paxton has made a brief appearance in court Thursday morning as the crown continues with its dangerous offender application.
He was convicted of aggravated assault and sexual assault against his roommate who was beaten and starved while living with Paxton in Calgary and later in Regina.
Citytv’s Heather Marcoux says Paxton appeared to be in good spirits when he entered the room this morning, even joking with lawyers.
“The psych assessment has been completed but it hasn’t been filed yet. It is not going to be filed until October 15th, so the lawyers on both sides don’t know what is in the report yet,” said Marcoux.
Marcoux says both sides are planning to take two weeks to review the results before returning to the judge on the 31st.
