Officials in Banff National Park are bracing themselves for more visitors as the larches begin to turn colour.
Cars, buses and recreational vehicles were backed up for kilometres last year to see the vibrant yellow leaves on the alpine trees, prompting police to temporarily close the road to a popular hiking spot in the area.
Officials say this year they are more prepared for the crowds.
Cpl. Jeff Campbell with the Lake Louise RCMP tells The Calgary Herald they will be monitoring traffic.
But Parks Canada advises visiting the fall scenery in the early morning or late afternoon if you want to beat the rush.
