A Calgary man has become a real-life superhero to sick children in the city.
Chris Doucher has donated more than $9,000 worth of comic books he’s collected over 15 years to the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Doucher tells The Calgary Sun he got the idea while his own two-year-old daughter was staying in the hospital.
He thought reading comic books would help the kids stuck there for long stays and would help them feel more like other children.
Doucher has also started up a project called ‘The Local Heroes Comics Initiative’ which will encourage others to donate comic books to children’s hospitals.
