The death of a man in a boarding house fire last week is now being considered a homicide.
57-year-old Daniel McWha died after being pulled from the blaze last Wednesday night on 25th Avenue Southwest.
CPS says they have no suspects at this time.
Sgt. Grant Miller says they believe the residence was specifically targeted.
“We don’t think it’s random. I think what that may look like is a Molotov cocktail situation or kids or something.” Miller says, “So we’re satisfied that we’re past that and it was specifically set in this residence.”
Police have spoken to the half a dozen residents that were staying in the home, and say they’ve all been co-operating with the investigation.
CPS say McWha’s death is fire related and there’s no evidence of any other injuries before the blaze began.
