The three people captured in a photo at a fire in Mckenzie Towne this weekend are not suspects in the three alarm blaze.

Two teenagers and an adult came forward and provided witness statements not long after the photo was released to the public on Monday.

Duty inspector Paul Stacy says the three saw the fire at the condo complex under construction from a distance and got closer to try to help.

He says they’re confident they had nothing to do with starting the fire.

The fire destroyed 22 condo units and damaged 13 others, as well as several vehicle and pieces of construction equipment at a condo project along McKenzie Towne Drive Sunday.

Damaged is estimated at between $3-million and $4-million.

Arson investigators continue to search for clues at the scene.

Jayson Doysher with the Calgary Fire Department tells 660News the investigation could take some time to complete, but getting it right is more important than getting it done in a hurry.

“They want to make sure they find any piece of evidence of anything related to where the fire started.” says Doysher.

Anyone with information about the fire or the three people investigators want to talk to should contact police or Crimestoppers.
