A 21-month-old boy remains in Children’s Hospital after being found unresponsive in a backyard hot tub in the city’s southwest.

Stuart Brideaux from EMS tells 660News, two units responded to the home just after 5 p.m. Friday on reports of a near drowning and transported the boy to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition.

According to police, the hot tub was outside and had a cover on it but it was not securely fastened at the time of the accident.

The boy’s father was doing CPR when EMS crews arrived.

There’s been no update yet on the boy’s condition.
