The legacy of Peter Lougheed will live on through all he’s done according to Calgary’s mayor.
Naheed Nenshi says all you have to do is look around you to see what he accomplished.
“So much in Calgary and Alberta, and in Canada, is due to his vision and his legacy,” says Nenshi, “and there’s just no way we can express to both him and his family for all they have done.”
Lougheed was the premier of Alberta from 1971 – 1985 and is credited with helping establish the oil and gas industry in Alberta.
He passed away Thursday at the age of 84 in the Calgary hospital named in his honour.
