Two more cases of West Nile virus have been reported in Alberta.

Alberta Health Services is warning Albertans not to let their guard down when it comes to mosquitoes.

Serious cases of the virus can result in tremors, high fever, unconsciousness and even death.

Both reported cases are women under 65 who live in the southern half of the province.

Health officials recommend wearing insect repellent and long sleeved shirts and pants whenever possible.

They also tell The Calgary Sun staying inside during dusk or dawn when mosquitoes are most active is always a good idea.

Seven cases have been confirmed in the province since August 21.
