A downtown CTrain station is being shut down to make way for the new West LRT line.
The 10th Street station at the west end of 7th Avenue will close for good on Saturday – facing demolition.
The city says it is necessary for the future operation of four-car trains, and to connect the CTrain to the new line.
A new station will be built at 11th Street S.W. and will be located in front of the Kerby Centre.
The Calgary Sun reports the new hub will open in 2013.
