It’s “Beethoven on The Bow” at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park

The sounds of a symphony orchestra will fill the air at Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park this Saturday.

The Calgary Civic Symphony is putting on a performance as a fund-raiser for a bike path from Cochrane to Calgary, the Rotary Club and the Glenbow Ranch Foundation.

“As a matter of fact, this is the first time that the Calgary Civic Symphony is going to be playing outdoors,” Symphony President Manon Mitchell tells 660News. “As you know, with Calgary weather, outdoor symphony concerts don’t happen too often.  So this is a pretty unique offering.”

“The Calgary Civic Symphony is about 70 members and we’re all unplugged,” Mitchell continues. “So you get to hear some wonderful orchestra sounds.  But you get to do that sitting outside, under the sun.  It looks like the weather is going to be great.”

The performance is called “Beethoven on The Bow” and starts at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.

Tickets are $40 per person or $80 for a family.  They’re available at www.rotarymusicandmotion.com or at the door.

Since there is limited parking at the provincial park, show goers will have to take shuttles from either the Crowfoot LRT station or from the Cochrane High School.  The shuttles will be running throughout the day.
