Calgary movie lovers are getting a new cutting edge theatre in the Southeast.

Cineplex has announced they plan to build the new VIP cinema at Seton Boulevard and Deerfoot Trail.

It will feature three VIP auditoriums that are the first of their kind in the city, with in- seat menu service, reserved seats and extra-wide high back rocker chairs.

Filmgoers will even get a chance to crack open a beer or enjoy another alcoholic beverage during the movie.

However, Langdon says guests will have the option of seeing the flick the traditional way or upgrading.

Spokesman Mike Langdon says Alberta is one of the most frequent movie-going provinces.

“We thought this experience in a city like Calgary just made a ton of sense. And that’s why we’ve decided to bring it there,” says Langdon.

Construction will be completed in 2014.
