Shots were fired early Sunday morning when a melee outside a northeast pub apparently spilled over to the nearby Costco parking lot in Sunridge.

Police responded to reports of gunshots and a disturbance involving about 20 people in the 2800 block of 32nd Street Northeast.

The incident happened around 3am, but the call to 9-1-1 didn’t come in for another 15 minutes.  Duty Inspector Paul Stacey tells 660News when police arrived at the parking lot, everyone had scattered.

“What we did locate were some spent firearm rounds in the parking lot,” says Stacey. “So at this point we have no apparent victims that we’re aware of and we have some very limited witness information.”

“It sounds like there may have been a disturbance at a nearby pub that spilled out into the parking lot,” Stacey elaborates. “And then it started to be settled in the parking lot, and then somebody fired off a round or two in the lot before fleeing.  And everybody fled at that point.”

Since many of the witnesses scattered after the incident, police have little information to work on in their investigation.

“What we were told was the shooter may have fled as a passenger in a silver-coloured SUV,” says Stacey.  “But that’s the best description we have at this point.”

It’s believed no one was injured in the shooting.
