Federal Liberals will have a new leader on April 14, 2013.
The party executive has confirmed members and supporters will pick the new leader on that date at a convention in Ottawa.
The official leadership race will last five months and begin on Nov. 14, 2012.
Many Members of Parliament are expected to toss their names in the leadership hat, including Justin Trudeau, David McGuinty, Dominic LeBlanc and Marc Garneau.
