Hundreds of investors have lost tens of millions of dollars and a class action lawsuit has been launched against Platinum Equities Inc. and related companies.

A lawyer representing some of the victims says the alleged scheme involves properties in Alberta and B.C.  

Kevin McGuigan of McGuigan Nelson LLP, says most of the people were not told of the risks before they laid their money down and they have lost their life savings.

$160,000,000 was raised through various projects and it’s believed 2200 investors lost money.

There will be a town hall meeting Monday evening for more information on the lawsuit,  if you feel you are a victim as well, you can attend but bring all the paperwork.

It will be held at Southside Victory Church, 6402-1A street SW at 7:00pm, with registration beginning at 6:15pm.
