Calgary police say they know who did it, they just can’t prove it.
Five months after a grove of ash and aspens were mysteriously cut down in a city park, no charges have been laid.
Police believe someone hired a crew to hack down the trees on Britannia Drive S.W., but say they don’t have enough evidence to prosecute.
Neighbours were outraged at the vandalism behind two homes that took out 20 mature trees and many bushes.
The damages totalled $100,000.
Community volunteers tell The Calgary Sun it is short term; they plan to replant in the area, and restore the neighbourhood to its former beauty.
